Frequently Asked Questions

Is it Queerly “Me” or Queerly “Maine”?

We say Queerly “Me” (M-ee)! While Queerly ME’s name does intentionally have a double meaning, the LGBTQIA+ community—the human “me” part of what we do—is the most important aspect of Queerly ME, as much as we love Maine!

Who does Queerly ME serve?

Queerly ME serves LGBTQIA+ folks in Maine who are primarily in their 20s to 60s. In the past three years of programming (pre-nonprofit status and post non-profit status), we have created events in 12 out of Maine’s 16 counties. The bulk of our programming is currently in midcoast and central Maine regions.

How do I participate in Queerly ME’s featured photo-documentary?

Please reach out to kylegwarnock@gmail.com to inquire into photoshoots; please provide your town name in your inquiry. Only LGBTQIA+ individuals living in Maine are featured in the photo-documentary, and photoshoot wait times will vary dependent on the photographer’s availability.

How do I get added to Queerly ME’s Directory of Resources?

All of the resources provided in our directory are of LGBTQIA+ individuals or groups supporting the LGBTQIA+ community in Maine. If you meet this criteria, your next step is to be photographed by us, as every resource in our directory is pulled from the photo-documentary. Please reach out to kwarnock@queerlyme.org to begin this process!
